2016 Loco Cimbali, Cabernet Sauvignon. Zolotaya Balka
Crimea PGI,
Republic of Crimea,
Russia,
13.5% vol., 1 450
Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
The wine is deep ruby in colour. A clean, intense, harmonious yet complex nose, displaying high typicity of Cabernet Sauvignon, very reminiscent of Sonoma County in California, with aromas of blackcurrant leaves and berries, then notes of spice, perfectly integrated oak (cinnamon, vanilla and toast) followed by nuances of tobacco and pine needles. On the palate, a well-structured and balanced wine with ample but ripe, polished tannins, moderate warm alcohol, medium+ juicy acidity, medium+ body and fairly high fruit concentration on the medium+ finish. Powerful yet elegant wine. Ready for drinking with further potential for ageing (5-6 years).
