Tsimlyanskiy Chernyy
Tsimlyanskiy Chernyy is a black grape variety used for red wine production. It is believed to originally come from the Rostov region (Russia). It is a mid-budding and mid-ripening grape variety with medium-sized bunches and berries. It is susceptible to downy and powdery (oidium) mildews, as well as botrytis bunch rot (grey mold). Tsimlyanskiy Chernyy can be produced as a monovarietal wine, but is also used in blends with different grape varieties. Classic blending partners are Cabernet Sauvignon, Golubok and Krasnostop Zolotovskiy. Fermentation typically takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels.
