Sankt Laurent / Saint Laurent
Sankt Laurent is a black grape variety used for red wine production. It is believed to originally come from Austria. It is a mid-ripening grape variety with medium-sized, compact bunches and berries of small to medium size. It is resistant to downy mildew and botrytis bunch rot (grey mold), although sensitive to late frost. Sankt Laurent is typically produced as a monovarietal wine. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels.
