Barbera
Barbera is a black grape variety used for red wine production. Some authors believe it originally comes from Piedmont (Italy), although there are no scientific studies to prove this. It is a relatively late-ripening grape variety with medium to large bunches and medium-sized berries. It is drought-resistant, but sensitive to spring frosts. Barbera typically produces monovarietal wines. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks or in oak barrels.
