Verdejo
Verdejo is a white grape variety used for still dry wine production. It is believed to originally come from Rueda (Spain). It is a mid-budding and mid-ripening grape variety with compact, small to medium-sized bunches and medium-sized, thin-skinned berries. It is susceptible to powdery mildew (oidium), although it is drought-resistant. Verdejo produces monovarietal wines, but is also used in blends with different grape varieties. A classic blending partner is Sauvignon Blanc. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks.
