Teroldego
Teroldego is a black grape variety used for red wine production. It is believed to originally come from Trentino (Italy). It is a mid- to late-ripening grape variety with medium-sized bunches and berries. It is slightly susceptible to downy and powdery (oidium) mildews, and is wind sensitive. Teroldego can be produced as a monovarietal wine, but is also used in blends with different international grape varieties. Classic blending partners are Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Fermentation typically takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in oak barrels.
