Scheurebe
Scheurebe is a white grape variety mainly used for still dry, but also for sweet wine production. It is a cross between Riesling and an unknown grape variety obtained in Rheinhessen (Germany). It is a late-ripening grape variety with tight, medium-sized bunches and medium-sized berries. It is susceptible to powdery mildew (oidium). Scheurebe can produce monovarietal wines but is also used in blends with different grape varieties. A classic blending partner is Welschriesling. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks.
