Pinotage
Pinotage is a black grape variety most commonly used for red wine production. It is a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault obtained in Stellenbosch (South Africa). It is a grape variety that buds and ripens early, with small- to medium-sized, tight bunches and berries of medium size. It has relatively good resistance to diseases and frost. Pinotage is typically produced as a monovarietal wine, but can be blended with different international grape varieties. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels.
