Negroamaro
Negroamaro is a black grape variety most often used for red and rosé wine production. It is believed to originally come from Puglia (Italy). It is a late-ripening grape variety with medium-sized bunches and thick-skinned berries of medium size. It shows good resistance to downy and powdery (oidium) mildews and heat; it is drought tolerant. Negroamaro can be produced as a monovarietal wine and is often used in blends with different indigenous Italian grape varieties. Classic blending partners are black Malvasias and Primitivo. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels.
