Müller-Thurgau
Müller-Thurgau is a white grape variety used for still dry wine production. It is a cross between Riesling and Madeleine Royale obtained at the Geisenheim research center (Germany). It is an early-ripening grape variety with medium-sized bunches and relatively small, thin-skinned berries. It is susceptible to downy and powdery (oidium) mildews and botrytis bunch rot (grey mold). Müller-Thurgau typically produces monovarietal wines but can be blended with different grape varieties. A classic blending partner is Riesling. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks.
