Marselan
Marselan is a black grape variety used for red and rosé wine production. It is a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache Noir obtained in Montpellier (France). It is a mid- to late-ripening grape variety with big bunches and small berries. It has good resistance to powdery mildew (oidium) and botrytis bunch rot (grey mold). Marselan is often produced as a monovarietal wine, but is also used in blends with different grape varieties. Classic blending partners are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Fermentation typically takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks.
