Marsanne

It is a late-budding and mid-ripening grape variety with big bunches and small berries. It is susceptible to powdery mildew (oidium) and botrytis bunch rot (grey mold). Marsanne can produce monovarietal wines but is often used in blends with different grape varieties. Classic blending partners are Roussanne, Viognier and Grenache Blanc. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels, maturation – in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels.
