Malvasia Bianca di Candia
Malvasia Bianca di Candia is a white grape variety used for still dry wine production. It is believed to originally come from Greece, although there is no scientific evidence to prove this. It is a mid- to late-ripening grape variety with big bunches and big, thin-skinned berries. It is sensitive to fungal diseases. Malvasia Bianca di Candia is typically used in blends with different indigenous Italian grape varieties, while monovarietal wines are rare. Classic blending partners are Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia del Lazio. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks.
