Lagrein
Lagrein is a black grape variety used for red wine production. It is believed to originally come from Alto Adige (Italy). It is a mid-ripening grape variety with medium-sized bunches and berries. It prefers warm growing conditions. Lagrein is often produced as a monovarietal wine, but is also used in blends with different grape varieties. Classic blending partners are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Schiava. Fermentation typically takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels.
