Grechetto di Orvieto
Grechetto di Orvieto is a white grape variety used for still dry wine production. It is believed to originally come from Italy. It is a mid- to late-ripening grape variety with medium-sized to big bunches and thick-skinned berries of medium size. It has good resistance to fungal diseases. Grechetto di Orvieto can produce monovarietal wines but most often is used in blends with different indigenous Italian grape varieties. Classic blending partners are Procanico (Trebbiano Toscano), Drupeggio and Verdello. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks.
