Golubok
Golubok is a black grape variety used for red wine production. It is a hybrid (Severnyy X pollen from different varieties: 40 Let Oktyabrya, Odesskiy Ranniy and № 1-17-54 [Alicante Henri Bouschet X Cabernet Sauvignon], obtained in Odessa, Ukraine). It is an early-ripening grape variety with medium-sized bunches and berries. It is winter-hardy, as well as relatively resistant to downy and powdery (oidium) mildews. Golubok can produce monovarietal wines, but is often used in blends with different grape varieties. Classic blending partners are Cabernet Sauvignon and Tsimlyanskiy Chernyy. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks.
