Corvina / Corvina Veronese
Corvina is a black grape variety used for red wine production. It is believed to originally come from Veneto (Italy). It is a late-budding and mid- to late-ripening grape variety with medium-sized bunches and thick-skinned berries of medium size, and is suitable for air-drying. It is susceptible to downy mildew and sensitive to drought. Corvina is typically used in blends with local Italian grape varieties. Classic blending partners are Rondinella, Molinara, Corvinone and Oseleta. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels.
