Carmenère
Carmenère is a black grape variety used for red wine production. It is believed to originally come from Bordeaux (France). It is a late-ripening grape variety with small bunches and medium-sized berries. It is relatively resistant to fungal diseases. Carmenère produces monovarietal wines but is also used in blends with different grape varieties. Classic blending partners are Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in oak barrels.
