Aligote
Aligote is a white grape variety used for still dry wine production. It is believed to originally come from Burgundy. It is a grape variety that buds and ripens early, with compact, medium-sized bunches and berries of medium size. It is susceptible to downy mildew and botrytis bunch rot (grey mold). Aligote typically produces monovarietal wines but can also be used in blends with different international grape varieties. Classic blending partners are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc. Fermentation usually takes place in stainless steel tanks, maturation – in stainless steel tanks.
