Leonid Fadeev's wine assessment scale
Exceptional (super high quality; a wine with a special personality, complex, with high typicity of varietal composition and place of origin, perfectly balanced, with high fruit concentration and long finish, with long-term potential for maturation and development in the bottle; platinum medal level at the international wine competition).
Outstanding (many positive characteristics; typical, complex, very well balanced and structured wine, with high fruit concentration and long finish; the wine that will develop and improve over the years in the bottle; gold medal level at the international wine competition).
Very good (pleasant, attractive, well-made wine; more typicity, complexity, balance, fruit concentration, length and ageing potential in the bottle; bronze medal level at the international wine competition).
Good (certain varietal typicity, good balance, but not enough complexity, fruit concentration, length and potential for further ageing and development in the bottle; bronze medal level at the international wine competition).
Average (a simple and mass-produced wine; light, fruity, for every day and immediate consumption, without the potential for ageing and development in the bottle and without clear typicity of varietal composition and place of origin).
With some faults.
Totally faulty.
*A score of 80 points is the threshold for quality: wines scoring 80 points and above are recommended to consumers.
