This wine is deep ruby in colour. It has a fruity, spicy nose of quite pronounced intensity, giving a positive first impression, with aromas of blackcurrant, dried fig, plum, cloves, nutmeg, black pepper and oak. It is fresh but also concentrated and rich on the full-bodied palate, with ripe tannins. It is slightly jammy on the medium-plus finish, though the high alcohol is well integrated. Ready for drinking with potential for ageing (3-5 years).
