This wine is medium ruby in colour. It has a spicy, oaky and varietally pure nose of quite pronounced intensity, with aromas of liquorice, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, blackberry, plum, leather, cedar and pipe tobacco. It is fresh and concentrated on the full-bodied palate, with the alcohol, acidity and ripe tannins in nice balance, although the fruit is a little jammy on the medium-plus finish. Ready for drinking with potential for ageing (3-5 years).
