This wine is deep ruby in colour. It has a varietally pure, slightly oaky nose of medium-plus intensity, giving a positive first impression, with aromas of black pepper, cloves, blackberry, plum, liquorice, dark chocolate, burnt wood and violet. It is rich and concentrated on the full-bodied palate, which has smooth acidity, ripe tannins and high (quite well integrated) alcohol, though only a medium finish. Ready for drinking with potential for ageing (3-5 years).
