Rebecca Gibb
MASTER OF WINE (UNITED KINGDOM)
Rebecca is an award-winning wine journalist, editor and author of The Wines of New Zealand. In 2019, she was named as one of the Future 50, an initative created by WSET and IWSC to select 50 individuals under 40 who will be future influencers of the global drinks industry and have made a significant contribution to the trade in the past three years.
Securing her first editorial role at UK wine trade magazine Harpers after being named UK Young Wine Writer of the Year in 2006, she has since edited several print and online publications. Rebecca contributes to prestigious titles including Decanter, World of Fine Wine, LUX and Wine Business International, as well as running a consultancy, The Drinks Project, which provides business development, brand representation and marketing assistance to wineries. She also launched a wine and spirit puzzles business, Bamboozled Games, in October 2018.
In 2015, Rebecca became one of only 390 Masters of Wine in the world. In a record class of 24 graduates, she was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award and the Bollinger Medal in recognition of her outstanding tasting ability. She puts her palate to good use as a key member of the New Zealand panel at the Decanter World Wine Awards and regularly sits on the magazine's panels for both New Zealand and Loire Valley-focused tastings.
